Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of fiber-based, business-grade networking, communications and cloud solutions, has lab-certified the Fonality trixbox Community Edition (CE) IP PBX (News - Alert) system to operate with its Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking service.

Designed for small to medium sized businesses (SMBs) and mid-size corporations with hundreds of users, the trixbox CE is an open source IP PBX based on the Asterisk (News - Alert) platform Trixbox CE. It is one of the largest and most active online user communities that giving businesses the flexibility to build their own custom features.  Trixbox CE has quick access to features such as forums, issue resolutions, bug fixes, product enhancements, and project development.

The system can be integrated easily with Integra’s SIP Trunking service. Trixbox CE utilizes the company’s fiber-based voice and data network and Integra’s integrated product set combines multiple voice and data options on a single connection providing businesses with dynamic bandwidth allocation and high-bandwidth options. Voice services take priority and include SIP Trunking with multiple compression options, or traditional line, trunk or ISDN PRI handoffs to any PBX.
